Blog for Friday

Ms. Nakada said, “Hi,” to all of us. Then, after we corrected the blog, Ms. Nakada gave us time to work on our Broadsides. Ms. Nakada showed us some of hers and we told her which poems, or lines of poems, we were using for ours.

Then, we went on Book Creator and Ms. Nakada showed us her book. After, Ms. Nakada told us about our quiz and how to write “Garden Song” correctly. Then, Ms. Nakada told us May was Mental Health Awareness Month.

After, we went to the Jamboard and talked about some ways we can revise our poems. Some strategies were to read aloud and get feedback, read aloud for punctuation, and take notes from other poems and apply them to yours.

We then worked on our poetry collections. While we worked, we looked at old students’ introduction pages. We also looked at one of Ms. Nakada's. Then, we watched “Unforgettable” performed by Pages Matam, Liz Acevedo, and G. Yamazawa. After, we talked about Get Lit. We took our quiz and were dismissed.
