Today, we started with our agenda. 

We wrote and discussed the quote of the week, the question of the week, and the song of the week on the Jamboard. 

Then, we read Inside Out and Back Again. After that, we went into breakout rooms and read more chapters. At the end, we discussed what the chapters were about, and that was all for today.

After that, we brought out our notebooks, and talked about chapters 3 and 4 of The Outsiders . After that, we talked elements of plot and how about their parts of a story. AGENDA Notebook/Blog Set-Up Q. Q. Song What good readers do: The Outsiders Ch. 1 -4 HW: Read and write RJs for Ch.1 - 4 I was the first to volunteer, for some reason, so now everyone will be nice to me, ha, ha. Ms. Nakada had us label our notebooks and start the table of contents. Every time I'm on Zoom, I kinda laugh because looking at the people staring at the screen looks like the hamster meme(lol). Next, we set up our journal: agenda, homework, the quote, the question, and the song of the week. This feels weird typing and doing work at the same time. It's a tad difficult, but it's fine. The quote was from Ralph Waldo Emerson. I thought the quote meant was that even though the world that want you to be happy as somebody that you are not, staying true to yourself and not being something else to live up to societies standards is an accomplishment and is enough to be proud of. Blog for Friday

We started the class with Ms. Nakada greeting us as usual. After the blog, we reviewed what we did on Wednesday and then read the poem, “Toy Boat” by Ocean Vuong. We started to have a discussion about what the poem meant. After this, we started our poem writing time. When our first writing time was up, Ms. Nakada shared with us blackout poetry. Then, we began with our second writing time. After that was done, people shared some of their poetry lines with Ms. Nakada, and we went into our literature circle groups. When we got back into the main group, Ms. Nakada went over our schedules for Hybrid learning.
