Class Blog for Monday

On Monday for fourth period, it was another sunny, spring in Los Angeles. Ms. Nakada opened the Jamboard and went through the agenda. After that, we corrected Derek's blog after he read it. Derek always brings so much energy to the class.  The quote of the week was “We cannot all succeed when half of us are held back” by Malala Yousafzai. The question of the week was “How do gender expectations create systems of both privilege and oppression?” W e talked about our question of the week.  The song of the week was “Respect” by Aretha Franklin. Next, we read for literature circles and planned for spring break. We started IABs.

Derek's Blog for Friday

We talked about our thesis and intro to our IO&BA essay. We also got started with our body paragraphs. I like to quote she helps us with our "plot" for our essays. We also talked more about our second body paragraphs, and how refugees find home and refuge. Then, we finished up our conclusion and our quiz.

Class Blog for Wednesday

Bro, no one did the blog again.  First,  we went to the Jamboard. W e discussed the quote of the week by Alice Walker. We also discussed the Question of the Week: "What does gender equity look like in our schools?" and  we questioned gender equity.  After discussing the Question of the Week, Ms. Nakada played the Song of the Week, "Luka" by Suzanne Vega, and we talked about our favorite lyrics of the song. After that, w e all did the first part of the second part of our draft s for our  I.O. &.B.A.  essays due on Friday.

Class Blog for Friday/Monday

Hi, everyone! We don't have a blog again, so this is what we did on Friday. First, we did the Jamboard. We reviewed the Q Q and Song. Then, we read the " Refugee Children in Canada" article by Ana Marie Fantino and Alice Colak. After that, we did I.O. & B.A. together as a class. We read the poem "Part IV: From Now On." Then, we went into breakout rooms and read the other poems and finished the book! Next, Ms. Nakada showed us her collage and what we’re supposed to do. To end class off, we did the Week 8 Quiz. On Monday, we did a three-minute breathing meditation. We took the AR test on I.O. & B.A. Then, we did a study hall.
